their families and friends, for money they have no guarantee of winning. Tragic!
I find this form of entertainment negative and damaging. It is contrary to helping a society in need find the good in their lives. It only manages to reinforce negative and bad to criminal behaviors in those involved and those watching. It conjures a unnatural desire to harm oneself and family for the possibility of payment. It is the legalized prostitution of human character and the everyday family. The watchers feel better about themselves for not having sunk as low as those in the show, while coveting the recognition, perceived power and riches of those same "lowly characters" in the program.
This entertainment medium, for me, confirms ultimately the biblical warning about the love of money.
Whoever loves money never has money enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income. This too is meaningless. Ecclesiastes 5:10
It is meaningless in the end, to seek money in this manner. It is meaningless to malign oneself, family and friends for money. It will not be enough to fix the damage incurred to the hearts, souls and spirits of the people involved.
No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money. Matthew 6:24
Its tragic that people would sacrifice themselves for money in this manner. Enough said here.
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. 1 Timothy 6:10
If this is not money at its most evil, I do not know what is. These individuals have wandered from all faith and knowledgeably pierce themselves with many griefs.
How is this form of entertainment benefiting anyone, aside from network people and the participants' 15 minutes of fame? I do not see the benefit, therefore I do not watch the programs. In my current stage of life I prefer to keep the box black, rather than blacken my spirit and soul with the sinful nature of the entertainment machine.
