I stumbled upon ForSaleByOwner.com while surfing the net for ideas on how to best market your home. Once I saw what they had to offer, I decided to give them a try in helping me to sell my home. Truthfully, I wasn't expecting much success from it.

I can not sing enough praises about this website and how crucial it was in helping me to sell my home. I had several people find my home because of the ad I had placed with them. One buyer was in the same state but several cities away. We were able to communicate through the website which provides you with a communication area to send and receive messages.

Ironically, the person who purchased my home lived in the town where we lived and although I had advertisements in several local newspapers, an ad on our cablevision home network and a sign in my front yard, she found me on the internet at forsalebyowner.com.

When I was having difficulty selling my home, I called and spoke to their customer service department who was more than willing to help me. They called me several times to make sure they had done all they could. You have the ability to put your home on the MLS (multiple listing service) in your area by paying a higher fee. This option however, was not available in my area. The customer service representative was eager to try and bring a realtor on board from my town that would do a mls without charging a realtor fee. Although he was unable to find one, I was truly impressed with how far they were willing to go in helping me sell my home.

I paid several hundred dollars in newspaper advertisements and television advertisements. In the end, the fee that I paid to forsalebyowner.com was much cheaper. If I had known it was going to be such a success, I would have skip all the other advertisements. I really spent a lot of time marketing my home. I mailed flyers weekly to local real estate agents in addition to all the ads I had out there. I can't know for sure but I think if I would have put my home on forsalebyowner.com the very first day that I listed my home, I probably would have sold it sooner. If I had to sell a home again I would definitely use forsalebyowner.com.
