Venom would no doubt win a heads up fight with your friendly neighborhood Spiderman. This is not just idle speculation put a well known fact in the Marvel world. Time after time Venom has handed Spiderman his Spidey arse but Spiderman, as usual, rounds up a posse of other Marvel superheroes to take down the parasitic symbiote known as Venom. But the question remains: who would win a mono a mono between the two? Lets compare.

To begin, lets compare their abilities. Spiderman has the ability to cling on and scale walls, possesses super human strength and speed, a sixth sense (spider-sense) which alerts him to impending danger, perfect dexterity and balance, shoot very powerful webbing, and is one of the most intelligent and witty of the superheroes. Spiderman can be vulnerable to ordinary attacks (such as bullets, blades, etc) and would likely leave you in a jam if Mary Jane came calling. The U.N. of Marvel superheroes, S.H.I.E.L.D, ranks Venom as one of Earth's greatest threats alongside such villains Magneto, Doctor Doom and Red Skull and for good reason. Venom also possesses super human speed and strength which appears to far exceed that of Spiderman. As a testament to Venom's strength he has, at times, broken out of Spiderman's webbing. Venom is also telepathic and can admit a 'psychic scream' which leads to extreme depression among humans. In addition, the symbiote can camouflage into backgrounds at will and is appears to be immune to any form of gaze attacks such as the one Ghost Rider employs.

In ending, I do not question that Spiderman is smarter, more friendly and is apparently much better at networking among other superheroes which is why Venom is constantly defeated and Spiderman is still alive. Having said that though this is about an all out fight between the two whether it be Eddie Brock or one of the other variant hosts...and if they were pitted in a steel cage match against one another, I know where my money would be. Nuff said.
