Where to go for downloading e-books

by AJL

Did you know that just 10 years ago the internet was still in it's infancy and industry leaders like Yahoo and Google were something people barely talked about, actually I don't even think Google existed 10 years ago but like so many other things that are now such a big part of our everyday lives, the world of eBooks has truly taken us by surprise, for example ten years ago if you told anyone that a new form of electronic book would create a new shopping industry and turn people away from a traditional book, they would probably have look at you like you were crazy, well I probably would have too because none of us ever expected that an electronic book that you read on your computer could have such a big impact and well the great thing about eBooks having such a wide spread impact is that you can now obtain some of your favorite or future favorite books for free and with very little work.

The great thing about a free eBook is well, that it's free but the one thing we all have begun to realize is that sometimes free is not always a good thing, for instance a large amount of free eBooks offered from websites today are just used as a promotional tool in order to get you to buy a product or sign up for a service.

So where can we all go to get eBooks that are actually worth reading?

I've put together a list of websites here that all offer free eBooks and even though some of the books you may find on these websites still act as a promotional tool, a large amount of them are exactly what you might be looking for.

The first quality website for free eBooks that I recommended is known as Project Gutenberg and can be found at http://www.gutenberg.org, Project Gutenberg is a website design specifically for free eBooks, almost anyone can contribute to the site and anyone can find almost anything they are looking for in the 20,000 plus eBooks they offer on the site. The website itself does not look all that attractive, this is because Project Gutenberg was created by a few web developers in there spare time and they could not afford to spend hours upon hours of there day, improving the overall look and feel of it, however the morals behind the project are good if your willing to get around the not so well designed website.

The next quality resource for free eBooks that I suggest is a website known as free ebooks.net and well as you may have already guessed they can be found at http://www.free-ebooks.net, unlike Project Gutenberg free books.net has an amazing site layout and are extremely organized, this website features thousands of titles in every category and has a book for everyone, this is truly a site in which you must see.

In my personal experience I've learned that there are thousands of websites that offer you free eBooks, however these are the only two that I personally trust the most and that is because they both feature great titles, they have thousands to choose from and are not consistently filled with online advertisements.

I hope you find these sites as useful as I have and enjoy your learning experience, also thank you for the penny. :)
