1990s movies you really must see

During the 90's there were so many must see movies. I looked through each year to see which ones I would recommend to people with some years being better than others. This decade offered an extreme amount of blockbusters while also being able to create thoughtful and insightful stories. Masterful horror films were developed that made people talk about them for years and the greatest comedies are still being laughed about every time we think about them.

Ghost and Misery are definitely the best from 1990. Ghost gave Patrick Swayze his second major blockbuster while Demi Moore found new success as an actress. Neither one were nominated for an Oscar, but their co-star comedian Whoopi Goldberg was. She received her only Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for this film. Ghost earned over 217 million dollars. Misery was an adaptation from a Stephen King novel. It was brilliantly directed by Rob Reiner who won an Oscar for Best Director for the same movie. It grossed over 54 million dollars and was widely talked about for its horrific scene of Kathy Bates hammering James Caan's legs. Bates became a household name from her role of the crazy obsessed fan of the writer (Caan) she so dearly admired. Bates won her first Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in Misery.

In 1991 there were three extremely successful movies that are must see's. Disney's animated film Beauty and the Beast made over 145 million dollars. The music was so popular that it won an Oscar for Best Song. Families were able to go see this movie together and adults were just as happy and entertained by Beauty and the Beast as the kids were. Two films that were not as family oriented were Silence of the Lambs and Terminator 2. Jodie Foster jump started her career again with Silence of the Lambs. She also received an Oscar for Best Actress. This film put fear in everyone and managed to creep them out with the thought of someone eating another person. Anthony Hopkins soared as the horrific killer earning a Best Actor Academy Award. Silence earned over 130 million dollars. Terminator 2 was just as successful as the first Terminator. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton teamed up again in the second part of this intense action thriller that had everyone repeating the phrase "Hasta La Vista, Baby". Terminator 2 was one of the most successful films of the decade grossing more than 203 million dollars.

In 1992 there were another three movies that are must see's. A Few Good Men, the Pelican Brief,
