The fact that a church is small has nothing whatsoever to do with its ability to be a light house in the community. The Bible says that where 2 or 3 are gathered in my name, there will I also be with them. God can take one person if they are willing and ready to serve Him and do miraculous things. Jesus was one man and look what He did on this earth. He was miraculously born, lived among the peoples of the earth, did many miracles, died a horrible death for our sins which brought us our forgiveness and eternal life and now lives with His Heavenly Father in Heaven. I have traveled to foreign countries and there saw small churches that were truly on fire for God. These people had a real desire to do the will of God. This is what church is all about, doing the will of God and reaching others for Christ. People are saved with a one on one encounter with a Christian. We should not let our size make us ashamed or feel defeated. If a church is walking in the will of God, it does not matter how many people there are in their congregation. Mega churches sometimes get lost in the splendor and the glitter of being just that, a mega church. Another argument in favor of disbanding may be the financial means of a small church. In the Bible Jesus speaks about the birds and the lilies of the field. They do not toil for God takes care of them. God is not going to let a church wither away as long as it is in the will of God no matter the size. If nothing else He will bring many blessings and good things to this church. Small churches have a special warmth and spirituality in them. They are a close knit family with very strong ties to each other. Small churches work well together and pull together in all aspects of their being. Sometimes larger churches are so big that most members have a small nucleus of people that they interact with on a weekly basis. I have visited different sizes of churches and the ones that I would want to be a apart of would be the ones that are striving to serve God and do His will. Size has nothing to do with it.
