I love music. It sets my soul at ease. It frees my mind. When I am listening to music, I can relax. It makes me feel like I can concentrate better. I feel more motivated when there is a melody playing in the background. In my opinion, listening to music at work can be a very comforting thing.

Music can provide a good atmosphere for customers. The music should not be vulgar. It should be appropriate for the business. It should be family friendly and not offensive. To be on the safe side, tune to a heavily censored radio station or play instrumental music. Playing seasonal music is a terrific way to get customers in the holiday spirit.

The music should not be blaring. It should be left at a level that keeps it enjoyable. The employees should be able to hear the customers, bells, and other important noises. The music should provide ambience and not a headache. The customers should want to hum along. The music should encourage them to hang around and to return again.

Over the years, I have heard many people state that music helps increase productivity. When I worked at a few factories, I noticed how true this was. Employees who were wearing headphones didn't have to deal with the distractions around them. They were able to focus on the task at hand. Those were generally the best workers on the line.

I agree that there is a time and place for everything. I have seen people behave inappropriately when listening to music. I don't blame the music. I blame the people. Music is a privilege. It is not something that we need to have. If we take advantage of any benefit, we can lose it. We should act respectful if we are allowed to listen to music.

Employees should behave professionally when allowed to listen to music. They should never gyrate or do nasty dance moves. They should also not sing along with the song at the top of their lungs. They should use the music as a tool to be stay motivated and to keep the customers happy.

If I have something important to do, I turn on the radio. I have albums I listen to for every mood. Certain songs make me clean. Other songs make me dance. I even have music to listen to when I write. I think we should all listen to more music. It is the key to a peaceful, productive life.
