As a lifetime learner I must say that I have had over twenty years to ponder my mistakes. First when you go to college have a plan. Do not go wandering from class to class and not have any idea of what you are going to get out of the four years you are there. These days its a waste of time and money. Even if you don't know what you would like to do in college I would suggest that you plan a course of study that will provide you with a meaningful job that would be able to sustain you even if you decide to go back to college and study another field. It is the worst thing not to have a skill that can provide you with some kind of income. College is too expensive to get into debt and stress out after you get out. One example is that I knew a friend who was quite wise. She first acquired an associates degree as an x-ray technician and was able to hold a good job while she went to school for teaching. This may not be for everyone, but is this is one possible course. Nursing is another field that some people turn to when they cannot find a job after college. Having a degree already one can acquire a nursing degree within three semesters at some colleges. I made the mistake of staying out of college too long, I should have been taking at least one class each semester I would have finished faster and had it paid.
