a world that has at times treated me with brutality.
I have an inquisitive mind that has never stopped seeking knowledge. Oddly, it is this part of my nature that I believe has enabled me to survive some of the worst hardships of my life.
I am open hearted and loving by nature and always seek the good in others. I have a counter side to this in that I recognize that others are not always good. My intellect seeks to explain why people behave in the ways that they do while my heart seeks to find the good in them. Many people say that I am far too forgiving of others faults, which is not true at all; in truth, I am simply very pragmatic about the human condition.
I have been accused of being a workaholic but in truth, I am a perfectionist. My tendency is too give my all too whatever endeavor I undertake striving for the best that I am able to produce. I don't have a switch in my brain that allows me to turn it off. So by the terms of today's world this might indeed make me a workaholic.
I am a rebel. Always have been, if you asked my mother she would say this was true since the day I was born. Truthfully, I don't believe that at my age it is so much being a rebel as being a thinking adult who doesn't quite fit expectations. I am frequently left of center and never afraid to argue my points with those who follow the path of least resistance. I know that were I more compliant, or maybe simply complacent, my life would be easier but then I wouldn't be me.
I am just me. I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister. I am the amalgamation of all that I have done, all that I have learned, and all that has been done to me. I will continue to grow, learn, and change as long as I am on this earth. How do I define myself?
I am human.
