Super Smash Brothers brawl tips and tricks

Super Smash Brothers is one of Nintendo's most successful franchises. It was the best-selling game on the Gamecube and is well on its way to do the same for the Wii. It's a concept that seems so simple that when you think about it, is completely ingenious. Take all the famous characters under your trademark and then have them beat on each other. What's not to love about Mario fighting Sonic or Link cutting down Pikachu? In the latest installation, there are a total of four control schemes and each can be fully tailored to whatever you feel most comfortable with. There are also many new characters and some changes to old ones, and with so much choice, it can be a little disorienting trying to find someone to play with and how to use them. I can help you find everything you need to be a local Smash Brothers legend.

Make sure to experiment as well before sticking with a certain controller.

When you have found a good controller to use, you will need to get down a few essential moves. First and foremost, learn when to use your recover and double-jumps. If you have a character that falls as they charge their recovery moves, make sure not to wait for very long before you use the move. For those who go straight up, make sure you are close to the edge of the stage or you could end up killing yourself.

Dodging and shielding are also very important. Whenever you hit the shield button and a direction, you do a dodge. These can be practiced in training mode by setting a low-level computer level against you, then trying to dodge and counter as many moves as possible. Another function that can be performed with the shield button is the Ukemi. The Ukemi is a move that keeps you from gaining additional damage when you fly into a wall. Just as you collide with a wall after getting attacked, tap the shield button to rebound off of the wall.

Now we come to attacking, the other side of the coin. There are A button based attacks and B button attacks, the A button being used for simple attacks and B used for your character's signature moves. Learn your B attacks well, because they are
