The cost of the uninsured in New York City is astronomical both financially and physically to everyone living in the state. New York's health care system consists of three million people without health insurance coverage and is growing everyday. This is a problem which everyone
can feel the crunch. Documents claim that we can easily state that 25% of New York's population does not have coverage. All costs are on the rise and without insurance the taxpayers of this country are paying dearly in all ways.
Monetarily programs such as Medicaid, etc., are being cut to aid in the costs to help hospitals, clinics and other
health related facilities. This issue is a hard pill for all to swallow and no easy remedy has been founded. Everyone talks about this problem but no one comes up with a solution.
The problem lies with not only the Insurance Companies but with the Doctors themselves. The government must step in and find some alternative to these rising health costs and slashed services. Time is never spent on a patient even when you are paying, so can you imagine when you are not? What really goes on with the Doctors at this time? Major problems exist in the system and with the health care professionals. Substandard health care is what is given to these people in need.
Why is the USA not able to solve such an important issue such as health-care insurance
coverage which can cause not only the state but the country to suffer from this issue.
I am sure implementing a program where Doctors must give back by donating time in the Emergency Hospital Rooms to receive better Insurance Rates or tax incentives is an Avenue to examine. Having medical students also give back while in the process of obtaining there degree can also help with caring for the needy who can not afford Health Insurance.
Structuring a benefit to Insurance Companies may also be an Avenue to examine. They are the richest Corporations in the Country yet they are allowed to cut services and ask insurers to pay more and more for less and less. Why is this problem not looked into. Someone one must step to the plate and point a finger and say "We must make a Change for the Betterment of our Society" This would help make a statement and more people to realize how important an issue this is before it is too late. Yes we can and should check alternatives.
The burden is on everyone and in every institution in the state of New York. Having such a burden causes many other issues to surface. People without insurance do not
