Jesus Christ died on the cross to save anyone who would ask. When one is living a life contrary to the teachings of the Word of God, he/she must first and foremost believe in God; that's God with a capital "G". There are many "gods" in mythology. Many are revered; but none can boast if God was a boasting entity), that he/she created all that is. Only the "ONE" true God can take credit for the universe and all that it holds.
God is a loving, merciful and forgiving God. As John 3:16 states, " For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son,that whosoever believes on Him, shall have everlasting life". How many people do you know that would sacrifice his own son for anything or anyone? That one scripture gives you the first step in becoming a Christian. One must BELIEVE that Jesus is the Messiah who was foretold throughout the Old Testament of the Word of God.
The second thing to do is to go to the foot of the cross and REPENT of one's sins an turn away from them. Upon sincere repentance,NEW life begins; A new creature is created. The spirit must be nourished in order to be healthy and strong enough to ward off the aggressive advances of "The Dark Evil One". Without ingesting the Word of God, one's faith can't grow. In times of tempests, malnourished faith miscarries. I am one who has been there-done that. I can personally attest to the importance of studying and applying the principles of the bible to your life. I won't get started on that at this point. That will have to be addressed in another article.
Remission of sin comes only when asked for. The same is true for salvation. Only when an unsaved person goes to the Lord and asks for forgiveness, can they obtain forgiveness. Jesus chases no one down and begs them to take up his cross and follow Him. God has done so much for us...Thank God for Jesus. He is the mediator and Savior. Without His intercession, there would be no redemption, salvation, mercy or grace for us. We are not worthy, yet Jesus will intercede for anyone who beseeches Him to come into their heart and reside.
There is only one God,in truth. The "ONE" God manifests in three persons. The first is God the Father, who is the creator of all things and judge of all men. He is the father of Jesus Christ, who in turn, is the Savior of the world. Because of Jesus' death, passion and RESURRECTION, we are redeemed. "THE CRIMSON", as I refer to Jesus' blood, is the only thing that can wash a spirit clean. Because Jesus rose on that third morning and lives in us who are born-again, He and only He has defeated death forever. The spilling of His blood has redeemed us. The resurrection of His body has proved God not a liar. The resurrection was the last in a series of events that gave birth to our faith in Christ.
When Jesus was taken back to the side of His Father in heaven, He sent "THE HOLY COMFORTER" for all those who believe and serve. a true Christian believes that Jesus is the Son of the only true God. He must know that Christ is the mediator; the only entity that can go directly to God the Father. The last thing a person must do in order to become a Christian, is to ask the Savior of man to come and reside in his heart. After a time with Jesus, one will become like Him. We must imitate Jesus' style of life to please God. We must love people in spite of...as God love us.
