What is the most embarrassing thing that ever happened to you?

I think everyone has experienced an embarrassing time or two in their lives, there's no escaping it. Although I wish there was, I could have done without my embarrassing times. I have given this a lot of thought, because I've had quite a few embarrassing moments throughout my life so far.

After going over my embarrassing moments in my mind, I would have to say the one I am about to tell you is at the top of the list.

I still remember it like it was yesterday. It was in the late 70's, I was always a tomboy, wearing jeans and sweatshirts the majority of the time.

Well this one day I woke up and i felt like dressing up for a change. Back in the 70's they had what they called wrap around skirts. They would wrap around your body and then there was a tie at the top to hold it closed. Well this is what I decided to wear to school with a nice top to match.

I went to school feeling good about what I had chosen to wear. As we were sitting in class the teacher started asking each student to stand up. She would then ask them a question and we had to answer it. Well when she finally got around to calling my name, I stood up, and yep, you guessed it...my wrap around skirt hit the floor! I was horrified! As I stood frozen in disbelief at what had just happened the whole class was roaring with laughter.

After standing there for a few seconds, I finally bent down to pick up my skirt, (yet another embarrassing moment)and put it back on...this time double knotting it. I didn't bother leaving the room to do this, what was the point, I don't think I could have been any more embarrassed then I was at that very moment.

I continued on and finished the class, with my head down for the most part. Needless to say I didn't live this down for a very long time, and if they ever come back out with this type of skirt, you will never ever catch me in one.

I eventually got to the point where I could laugh about it along with everyone else, but the memory of how embarrassed I was, stays with me to this day. As for being a tomboy, I still am, I think losing my skirt in class has a lot to do with it.
