Reflections: Prayer

WHAT IS PRAYER?
1. Sitting at the Father's feet pouring out my heart.
2. A two way conversation of listening and waiting for answers.
3. A personal relationship between me as a believer and our Father.
4. It is not a religious prayer repeated in a monotone voice.
5. Entering the Holy of Holies by the Blood of the Lamb.
6. Praying specifically for needs of mine and others.

7. Interceding for others, situations, and circumstances.
8. Praying the future for a person, city, state, nation, or world.
9. A Bible command to pray without ceasing.
10. Praying Bible verses for a person by inserting their name in place of a personal pronoun.
11. Answered in three ways - Yes, No, and Wait.
12 Asking what is on the Father's heart and partnering with the Father.
13. Opening our life to God and seeing our total need and dependence on Him.
14. Yielding ourselves in God's Presence to be re-shaped, re-created, and re-molded.
15. Daily spending time in fellowship to know and love our God more.

We are not to run ahead of God and fix things by giving Him our instructions and then asking God to bless what we just said.

We are not to fall behind and sit back comfortably and do nothing.

We are to follow after the Father one step at a time and join in what the Father is doing.

When we do that we become still so we can hear the Father's instructions. Because His ways and thoughts are much higher than our ways and thoughts. Be obedient and do it His way.

Prayer is a personal intimate relationship with my Lord and King lover of my soul.

In-To-Him-See
In-To-Me-See

From the Father's Heart
To My Heart

And From My Heart
To the Father's Heart

Jesus and me,
Me and Jesus

That's intimacy
You'll see.

God always answers prayer in three ways: yes, no, wait. We don't understand the "wait" as we want instant answers. That is the American way wanting instant answers.

Why do we have to wait? We wait because God wants to change something in our heart, mind or life to prepare us for the answer. Right now we are not ready or cannot handle His answer.

Then the next question you ask is, why should we bother to pray if God already knows the answers? Well, God wants us to pray so to get to know and love Him better. And the way we do that is to spend time in prayer talking, listening and waiting on God for His answers.

Here is a poem I wrote several years ago.

WRITERS PRAYER

Teach us Lord to give You a call
Asking guidance so we won't fall.

Give us words so we can write
But keep it short, clear, and bright.

With faith and trust in You, O Lord,
We'll work with You in one ac-cord.

Help us O Lord to bloom and grow
So all Your words we'll gladly sow.

Touch each life with Your love
Comforting wisdom from above.

Make our lives a blessing today
In everything we do and say.

Please help all the editors to prepay
Before we are published O, happy day.
