We make mistakes because we can. When it's been determined that we have committed a mistake that is not acceptable only then do we realize it's a mistake. If it was acceptable it would not be a mistake, it would be a miracle.
Some moves in various cultures are rude while in others they are accepted responses. I learned this while traveling to the Mediterranean. It is very common for Cypriots to request or make demands without using such words like "please" and "thank you," whereas in the Southern united states, you'd get your hand smacked for demanding anything without some manners.
For all action has a reaction and that reaction is either negative or positive and in our world a negative reaction tends to surmount to a mistake, but surely you didn't mean to be negative for if we did that would mean we premeditated our mistake. If we made a mistake due to ignorance then well that is an innocent mistake and herein lies an opportunity to grow, An innocent bystander in a crime who does not report the crime can now be as guilty of a mistake as the direct offender. If you don't let mistakes be known, then you now guilt of the mistake too. We are judge, jury or defender at various times dependent which side of the line we stand as we make choices.
Our legal system has been corrupted by so much psychological jargon, that blatant mistakes just aren't about right and wrong, black and white, mistakes now take on a whole new dimension in that it must be proven if you meant to make a mistake or not. In the event it's proven you meant to make a mistake, meaning you were in opposition to a societal standard, well then your fate takes a turn and it's too late to excuse the mistake. You must now live as you are told and all future action is all subject to a new measure.
With this short look into mistakes and using our legal system as an example, the best way to view mistakes is that mistakes are a part of life, however they are unavoidable through learning what not to do as well as learing what to do. There is a whole profession built around other people's mistakes.
Mistakes make money, mistakes take money, mistakes take lives, but ultimately you have time to correct your mistakes by making better choices thereafter, it's not until you've risked it all and given up your freedom of choice do you no longer have to mind your mistakes so much because someone else will always tell you when to move, when to eat and when to sleep.
Mistakes are necessary, they a part of the measure of what it is we are doing. It is one end of the spectrum of our energy exchange. A mistake can be an opportunity or a mistake can be a life sentence, we decide as we go. We make choices every second of our life, it's those life changing mistakes that stand out. To not choose life and opportunity is to not care to pay attention and to not pay attention in life is to live a life built around mistakes alone.
