Muhammad: The most common name in the world

Name is necessary for the purpose of the proper identification of a human. If we go through the history, we can found many names that are meaningful and meaningless but they are some unique names which catch more attention on the events of selection a birth name for a newly born baby. Muhammad is one of those names.

Muhammad is not just the most popular name along with Lee, John and Jack but also the most influential name of the world as well. This rapidly growing name really presents a great tribute to the legacies and teachings of a great Prophet and Messenger of Allah (The Almighty God). According to Muslim history; it is a fact that the first person whose name was Muhammad in the entire history of mankind was no one else but Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Many people have doubts in this claim but the maintained history of Arabia itself hasn't yet provides any single or solid precedent against the established claim.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) born in Mecca on 20th of April 570 A.D. in an Arab family. His grand father Abdul Muttalib chose a unique name "Muhammad" for his orphaned born grand son.

Muhammad is an Arabic name comprising four letters pronounced as "meem", "haa", "meem" and "daa" with three syllables pronounced as "mo", ham" and "mad". In English, the meaning of the word "Muhammad" can be the praiseworthy' or praised one' but the actual meaning of this word is the one who praised again and again'.

Arabic is a strict language in the sense of pronunciation, so there is only one legitimate pronounced sound available for the word of Muhammad is somewhere between Muhammad and Mohammed. The reason behind existing of too many spellings and pronunciation is just an example of those languages, which are not capable to produce all the sounds of any other competitive language. English and some other foreign languages are not fully able to produce or make the proper sound of the Arabic word Mohammad especially its last syllable "mad".

As it mentioned earlier that the Arabic name Mohammad is getting fame in all over the world, not too limited in Muslim dominated countries but also in India, USA and England; where a lot of families are proudly choosing this name on their sons. England has a unique record on its name for being the country which has the most on-record different variants of name Mohammad. Here they are:
