So you have nothing to do, and just want to kill some time, right? You can put that time to good use and get some money in the process. Although it will not completely replace your regular paycheck, it will help stretch it. There are many ways to earn some money on the side, whether it be from selling excess junk, writing some articles, or taking some surveys.
Sell Extra Stuff:
Have leftover junk, books, video games, and so forth that you don't need? Bring them to a consignment shop or sell them over the Internet. Good websites include Amazon.com, Ebay.com, and Half.com. All these websites charge a commission based on the final selling price, and Ebay also charges a listing fee whether or not the item is sold. Selling excess stuff on the Internet is the online version of a tag sale, as you will reach a wider audience.
Write Articles:
There are many websites that pay for written articles, such as Associatedcontent.com and Helium.com. With Associated Content, you can either paid upfront (typically $3-15 per article depending on length and quality) or get immediate performance payments ($1.50 per 1,000 clicks on an article). On the other hand, Helium does not offer upfront payments, but they pay depending on the number of clicks and the quality of article (via peer ratings). However, you can earn extra money publishing articles in the Helium Marketplace (subject to approval) and taking part in special promotions and contests. Helium's minimum payout is $25 via PayPal.
Survey and Trial Offers:
You can also get paid to take surveys and take part in trial offers. While many such websites provide fairly quick cash and frequent invitations, some others do not have that many offers to choose from. If you have to pay to join a given survey website, please AVOID IT! As for trial offers, avoid the ones that require you to stay past the trial period, as you will lose money in the process. When completing surveys, please take your time or you risk losing your reward or even having your account banned. If you refer others to many of these websites, you also get a commission off the new member's earnings. However, sending unsolicited referrals/SPAM will cost you your referral bonus and even your account.
SurveySpot: Get paid to take surveys. Frequent survey invitations and no fee to sign up. There is a minimum $5 payout by check, and expect a turnaround time of a few weeks from the time you request your check to when you get paid. I earned hundreds of dollars with them.
