Getting over writer's block

Overcoming Writers Block.

You find yourself staring blankly at your monitor. You find yourself cursing thin air because all the ideas you had minutes ago before powering up your computer have suddenly vanished. You find your fingers tapping away at the keyboard. But nothing makes sense its useless drool that you learned back at school in touch typing class, asdf jkl; asas lolo... No matter what you do you can't think of those bright idea that you had about that topic you can't even remember.

Ways to help in the prevention of writers block:

1.) Have a pen and paper handy, so that you can jot down your ideas when they come to you.

2.) Choose your words. Use the KISS method, keep it simple stupid. You can write down just a few words that will later lead you in a direction when it comes to writing your article. This will save you from double dipping and writing out paragraph after paragraph all over again.

3.) If you are anything like me, you will have your brightest idea when you are trying to settle for sleep. Writing at this point in time will only make a sleepless night worse. I help this by having a little voice recorder hand so that I can just say my idea and I will know what path the thought lead me on in the morning, at a more appropriate time.

4.) If you are looking for ideas for articles to write on a forum. Review other writers work, pick one of these subjects that you feel passionate about and believe that you are able to make a topical piece of writing out of it. Argue your point of view, suggest alternatives.

5.) Helium is a great place to start your brain working. Rating another's persons story may be the total opposite of what you are trying to achieve. But by doing this you will find subject matter that you know about and can compare with others. WARNING rating becomes addictive. Especially when you are looking for a subject to focus on.

6.) Pay attention to your mood. Moods can give a writer a swinging range of emotions. Pain, Love, Joy can all be expressed in words. Learn to articulate what you feel and why you feel it.

7.) Pick a moment in time that you remember so vividly. Start writing about that. Sometimes the best pieces of writing come from the least expected ideas. You can always revise and edit. You never know you might find that you branch off from what you originally wrote and start on a whole new subject. Now you have topics going to choose from.

8.) Use the experiences of those around you to make your subject. Although this may be risky. It is best to take a third person perspective if you are going to use something personal to another person. Never use names and never give EXACT details. Embellish a little, give the story more glory.

9.) Open a page in your local gossip magazine, blindly find and article and argue the opposite to what the other writer is trying to prove. Now of course we don't all know everything about the rich and famous so some times this method takes a few shots at blind shooting.

10.) Don't forget Reviews. Pick a book, band, movie, musical. Give your opinion on what you thought about it. Advise others on if you thought it is worth your buck. Suggest alternatives to genres, if you liked this than you might enjoy this also..

Always remember plagiarism is illegal. Don't copy another persons hard efforts. You wouldn't want to find your hard work pasted under someone else's name, with that person reaping all its rewards. So for the sake of the fellow writers, express yourself and create your OWN. Never feel to proud to accept creative criticism. Without help from others aiding your to become a better writer and person in general, we will never learn from our mistakes and become a better person for them.
