American Idol fans: Where to get Idol news on the web

There are an amazingly large amount of America Idol fansites. I never realized how many there really were. Some sites are better than others while there are quite a few that are simply about one particular America Idol Contestant.

There are quite a few fansites for last season's American Idol Sanjaya Malikar. He became a huge favorite among fans whether you thought he could sing or not. He is still talked about and obviously he must be well-liked if there are so many good fansites about him.

Blake Lewis has a couple, but I haven't seen many as does season 6 winner Jordin Sparks. One in particular site for Jordin is www.JordinSparks web.net. The colors used on the web page makes it very difficult to read information on Sparks which inevitably will turn people away, yet the photos shown are colorful and the layout is well organized. Kelly Clarkson has more fansites than any of the past and present American Idol contestants. This is possibly due to the fact that she is one of the most popular and of course the first American Idol. Katharine McPhee has a couple of fansites, but I haven't noticed many more about all of the other contestants.

There are plenty of American Idol fansites that are more dedicated to the show itself rather than to particular contestants, past or present. Many of them are not very well informative while there are others that are excellent in their layout and information as well as photographs. One of my favorites has to be www.Idolswild.com. This website connects with other American Idol fansites and encourages new sites to contact them. They have listed all of the top 12 idols from today and yesterday with fansites of them. I found that a number of them are still in the works of being developed, but it is still a great idea and will pay off once all of the other sites are finished. There are plenty of photos of all of your favorite Idols and plenty of interviews and articles. This is a well planned fansite and probably will continue as long as the show will.

AmericanIdol-Rickey.org is another fansite that is well designed and offer plenty of information about all of the contestants, past and present. There are plenty of photographs of each idol and it makes a fan want to return to get the latest updates. There's also Idolheaded.com that is well thought out and I consider it one of the better websites for Idol fans. It offers plenty of news and articles with photos of all the seasons of the show.

There's a number of fansites that are not very well designed and appears as though they have been thrown together. I would rather not mention their names, but they give very limited information and some don't even have photos of the contestants. There was one in particular that just listed the Season 7 top 12 contestants with one sentence after each name that described what kind of singer they are. One site even used the web page to announce they were only selling the domain name.

Nevertheless, there are so many more great American Idol fansites than there are bad ones. There's www.Sirlinksalot.com, and www.AmericanIdoltv.com that are great too. The surveys that decided to add are cool too. It pulls more people to put their intake on who they think will win or lose. It seems as though David Archuleta is a clear favorite while Jason Castro seems to be coming a far second. With the increasing amount of "scandals" that seem to pop up on each season it will only give these fansites more to write about.
