Can we really communicate with spirits

Almost every night, I looked at the moon and most especially when it is full. I didn't always do this. It all started back in early February of 2006, when my lover and friend died suddenly. He had been cutting down a tree in his back yard and fell to his death. Naturally, I was very disturbed about the sudden events and was desperately looking for answers, which there were none, and was in grief over the loss of my best friend.

My mind continually went over that day in every horrific detail, trying to figure out what could have changed to make those dreadful events come out differently. It isn't something we do rationally. Then it struck me. About a week before this happened, he told me about a disturbing dream he had had during the night. He said he had dreamed of his best friend from high school and that it had been a long time since he had thought of him.

While he was in Viet Nam, his friend was killed in a tractor accident, so he never got to say goodbye or go to his funeral. In the dream, he saw him in the distance and was calling to him, running to catch up so he could talk to him , but could not. It left him feeling very unsettled. I know he could never understand how he could be thrust in harms way and survive, yet his friend, who did not go to war died in a peaceful pasture. Was this a foreshadowing of the coming events?

His greatest love was a large piece of property that he owned that abuts a state forest. He spent the greatest part of his adult life working to create the vision he had when he bought it as a young man. Everything in that area was undeveloped and still essentially wild. Indians and early settlers hunted and lived along that very lake and artifacts can still be found there.

One day we were poking around his basement that sat on the ground level of his house . There are large windows looking out onto the large expanse of the yard and lake. It is a gorgeous view. We were going through old pieces of artwork and pictures when he pulled out an old framed photograph taken of a lake in Maine, where he was born. "Look, he said, pointing to the view from the window, doesn't that look exactly like the picture? Except for that tree that blocks the view. I'm going to take that tree down."

The lush, green land of this area is beautiful with soaring pine trees, magnolias that grow wild in the forest with large, velvety white, lemon-scented flowers and an abundance of low growing palmetto. Great blue heron are seen frequently
