First aid for burns

Burns
Skin-Saving Strategies

It can take just an instant:,to get a painful burn, and sometimes the burns can be more severe and possibly harmful or even fatal, depending on the severity and overall area of which you suffer from the burn, and the degree of the burn that you are suffering from. The fact is that burns are easy to get in an instant, a harried cook grabs the pan of burning food out of the oven; a cup of hot coffee comes tumbling down over the side of the table onto a curious child; a toddler manages to turn on the hot-water faucet during bath time., these are all prime examples of everyday life situations that cause burns.Many burns are minor and can be treated at home. The injured skin turns red; that's known as a first-degree burn. Sometimes, tiny blood vessels may be damaged and may leak fluid, causing swelling and a weepy appearance. If blisters appear, the burn is classified as second degree, and in third-degree burns, blisters do not form, and the skin turns white instead of red. The treatment of a first degree burn is usually mild enough to be treated and cared for without seeking a doctor, however if problems persist to worsen or you are unsure of the severity of the burn, I always advise the care of a physician in these cases, after all it's better to be safe than sorry, and if you are unsure, then you need to be safe , so seek care of a physician.

Here's what to do when a burn occurs, in the home, and the proper procedures to follow in which to protect you and keep you safe from further burn, and the treatment of the burn or burns you may have suffered. If the burn came from a open flame or fire source in your home or place of where you are, then of course you need to protect yourself and others from further burns, and put out the fire first. If your clothes are on fire, your first concern is to put out the flame that is on you and your body, and "Drop and roll," is deffinently the proper way to get the flame to go out and it's deffinently what you need to do, or get the person that has the flame do to get the flame out.If a hot object is responsible for the burn, then follow the proper procedures that will safely remove the object from others reach, and to remove it with proper handling methods to prevent further burns. Know when to seek medical help. There are times when first-aid methods at home just won't be enough. Get medical attention immediately if you have burns on your hands or face or over a joint, like the elbow;
