In my mind, the PS3 wins out due to technical issues with the Xbox 360. I'll try to detail the pros and cons of each console below.

Xbox 360 pros:

1) The game exclusives for the machine are pretty good and they do beat the PS3 currently' in my mind.

2) The internet service where you buy and download items is well done.

3) Internet play is also smooth. I've not encountered any faults while playing online.

4) In my mind there's a nice variety of games.

5) The controller for the Xbox 360 is pretty nice and easy to use.

Xbox 360 cons:

1) The console is known to not be reliable. I've had to repair my console twice and it's no fault of my own. Microsoft may have extended the warranty on the machine by three years, but it isn't good enough if the consoles keep failing. It's just tedious to send the machine off even if it doesn't cost anything for the repair.

2) The net service is not free. That's always a minus when you can play online with the PS3 for free. The only thing that is free with regards to the net service is the ability to download demos and such.

3) There is no support for the machine for HD movies. Actually, there is but you need to pay extra for the add on and the PS3 can play Blu Ray films without any extra charge.

4) HD DVD players aren't being produced anymore so that's another strike against the console. However, I believe Microsoft may switch to supporting Blu Rays at some point. That however is no way definite and just my view. Or they could just switch to another format of HD movies if one becomes available but that won't be for some time.

PS3 pros:

1) The PS3 is getting some good exclusives this year I believe. Metal Gear Solid 4 and the Final Fantasy games. There might be more but I'm unaware of them. I think the games mentioned though will give the console a boost.

2) The PS3's net service is completely free minus buying items from the game store.

3) The console seems to be pretty reliable in my book.

4) It can play Blu Ray movies right out of the box.

5) This next point is funnily enough also a negative. For me it's a negative, but for others, it's perhaps a positive. The controller is fairly unique like the Wi's. With the six-axis technology, some games require you to move the controller in a certain way without pressing any buttons, to do certain tasks. For example, say you're playing a flying game, you would tilt the controller up to fly upwards.

6) The PS3 is getting a gaming hub soon supposedly called Home, which enables people to meet up and chat. You
