Soul Mates
Why is your pain mine to feel as mine is yours
Why do our hearts beat together as one
Were you fashioned the same time as I
Did the Grand Artist touch your heart as he made mine?
Together in childhood we played
and now as adults our love still endures
This bond is strong as strong can be
Standing well to the trials of time
Again and yet again we were tested
Sometimes we argued and sometimes we remained silent
but not for long before the hands of friendship
were reaching out and seeking each other again
Our secrets held safe away from all others
in a bond of trust only true friends do enjoy
My friend, let us carry this friendship through life's journey
as only true soul mates can
