How to fix errors with the iPod shuffle.
As a basic piece of kit the iPod shuffle is pretty sturdy and rarely suffers failures. The time that things are most likely to go wrong is when it is being used or charged for the first time. The problem is usually the Firmware. But it can be sorted and this is how you do it. Jus one thing to remember, if you do restore the firmware back to its factory settings then you will loose all your songs on it and you will have to upload them again by syncing it back to your iTunes on your computer..
Follow these instruction to reset the Firmware on the shuffle:
• Click on start.
• Next select All Programs and click on it.
• In the All programs menu you should see something called iPod, assuming that you have loaded all the soft ware properly.
• Place the curser over the iPod and another menu pops up.
• In that menu select iPod Updater and click on it.
• The Update will now be open so plug in your iPod shuffle and click restore.
The rest is handled by the software so well done you've done it.
Another problem that occurs with iPod's in general is that when you plug them in to your computer to charge them and sync them with iTunes so that you can listen to all that music you have prepared, nothing happens. This is a surprising common problem but it is one that can very easily be rectified. The problem occurs because the software to run the machines is constantly changing (they would say evolving). The solution is to update the software that is on your computer so that it understands what the iPod shuffle is asking it do
.
So here is what you need to do:
• First, go to the iTunes web site.
• Then find where they keep all the lovely updates for the software.
• Locate the devise that you have just bought.
• Select the appropriate software package. It will be the one with highest number, like 7.1 or 7.5.s
• Click on the download button and away you go
At this point it all gets very easy. Installation wizards will appear and ask you some very simple questions. Just answer them and you should have no more problems.
Good luck and happy listening.
