I was a groupie. But, it was the 90's so, I was actually a young attractive girl with loose morals or as it was often put to me, a #### on the slippery slopes to alcholism. The world has never liked or accepted that a women of any age can have a wild sex life or have their sights set on more then one relationship. My deal was I only dated musicians. My peers lusted after the high school and college football players next door and I lusted after the next big phenom in the local music scene and all their drugs. I was the punk rock girl who slowly turned glam rock. I even ended up marrying a " music man". I was up front, back stage, carrying in guitars, ready to head to the bar to refill glasses, buy cigarettes,or anything else for the guys. I even yo-yo'd back and forth between two guys in the same band and madly flirted with everyone else that caught my eye. I was in search of myself and for a reality I could deal with, an alternative lifestyle, separate from the way I was brought up. Unfortunately, the times had changed. That is the definition I like and the role I so often played in my hazy crazy 20's. Mick Jagger has also stated that he thinks, " That all women are groupies".It is alluring, I can't deny that.
Bebe Buell,a well-known groupie during the 70's says: "It was accepted in those days ( cheating) in these circles. If a lover introduced you to a friend, the likelihood was that you would end up sleeping with him too.'Fidelity', she said, was not the call". See, I was pulling a Bebe Buell, just in the wrong era. Bebe Buell was the "legendary beauty" who hit the Manhattan music scene as soon as she finished high school. She had a media career as a rebellious New York model and she was the muse of every rock star. Buell was a playboy playmate and performed in bands herself. She is most notably
