HOW TO SUCCEED AT MLM

Knowing a little about multi-level marketing or mlm will help you to succeed in mlm world of business. First, the difference between so-called pyramid schemes and legitimate mlm companies is that legitimate mlm companies compensate based on the volume of product an independent distributor sells directly and, through their downline that is people who signed on after they did. On the other hand pyramid schemes pay people merely on the amount of people they recruit into the company; in addition to charging high fees to join this supposed company. Pyramid schemes are about moving people and legitimate mlm companies are about distribution of products. They want what's best for the customer or client, not what's best for the mlm owners.

Here are a few questions to ask yourself so that you will succeed in becoming a marketing pro while running your own home biz without getting taken' in a pyramid scheme also known as a Ponzi scheme named for it's inventor Don Ponzi in the late 1950's. In other words, ask yourself these questions to make sure you are entering into a successful mlm and not a pyramid scheme.

1. Investing a large amount of money, upfront, is a dead give away to a pyramid scheme. MLM's do not require large amounts of start-up capital to become a distributor of their products.
2. MLM depends on establishing a market for the product. Does the company pay any consideration to making a market place for their products or simple focus on recruitment and forget about the products?
3. Will the company purchase the unsold products back from you? Legitimate mlm groups will buy back at least 80 percent of unsold products if you have to pay for them.
4. What is going to make you more money, recruiting new members to sell products or selling products yourself?
5. Are you offered a commission for recruiting new members or distributors?
6. The focus is the main difference between the mlm and a pyramid scheme so you need to be careful and look to see where the companies focus lies, with product or with recruitment.

You need to become a marketing pro and investigate the companies you are going to be working with before you become a partner with them. Ask for a company referral, if they have been in business for any length of time, they should have people or companies they work with willing to give them a good reference and this is what you need to see. That they are well respected and can deliver on what they promise. Read and make sure you understand all of the company's literature and if you don't, ask questions.
