Girls versus boys in the gaming community

Well first off, I feel like girls get more attention as being "pro" gamers because the field of "pro" girl gamers is much smaller than guys. I mean when guys go to gaming tournaments you see guys for rows and rows, maybe a girl here or there, but besides that you're competing against all guys. So, when a girl performs well or even places just alright, it's a huge deal because there are fewer females then males at events. But just because the field of female gamers is so much less than that of guys, does it make it right that they can get noticed easier than guys that perform very well just because you see more males than females?

I think that it's stupid that females get much more attention then guys that are better than them just because of their gender. I mean if they can compete with the best of the best and beat them, more power to them and they deserve to be in the spotlight. But, until that happens they shouldn't get anymore camera time or sponsors than your average male gamer. They best girl gamer out there couldn't even compete on the same level as the best male gamer, it's just how things work. Thats why they have their own league and own competitions because they can't compete at the same level as guys. I'm not trying to sounds sexist or anything, I am just stating the facts. I mean that's why they have the WNBA and NCAAW because the women can't compete at our level, never have been able to and never will be able to. Women want to be equal unless not being equal gets them what they want, then they are all about their own leagues and sponsorships.

I think the main reason they get the fame is because sex sells, so if you're a good looking girl who can play any video game, you get to be sponsored and go to competitions. More power to them, I'm glad they can get everything a guy gamer wants with half as much effort, skill, and all around talent.

Maybe one day things will be right and guys will get the sponsors for being good and the girls will get them for being good at gaming and not just for being a girl. I know life isn't fair and that's why this happens.
