Shame on the man! Mr. Spitzer will suffer some embarrassment and a little less support from colleagues but in the end he is just a typical politician. The rules apply to others, not to him, not any of them. We have leaders that are more than happy to tell us to shape up or go to jail. Do right or get fined. Hasn't anyone else noticed the long list of indiscretions in the last 40 years?
Isn't this NY Governor another case for the public to start placing more importance on values? Isn't it time we had people represent us that are above reproach? Do we have to settle for this kind of leadership "do as I say not as I do?"
Was the cause of the problem because he was a victim of an unhappy marriage? Who knows and frankly who cares. He was a public official that let greed, power and corruption rule his life as he put on the front of being a man of ethics, integrity and honesty.
America wake up? Do you really think we have elected men and women who actually care about the people? Don't you think maybe they would be a whole lot more concerned for others if they were more public servants than bought and paid for bureaucrats?
The joke among many Americans for many years is that we have the best government money can buy. I think Mr. Spitzer is a poster model for the joke. He probably even used tax payer money, well heck, you know he did the citizens paid his wages, to pay for his call girls. I imagine if they decide to dig a little deeper this situation might actually be the tip of the ice berg concerning Mr. Spitzer.
It is time to quit letting politicians get away with this kind of behavior. They take oathes and they break them. We let them get away with it. If they can't be trusted by their spouse and families why should anyone trust them! After all they are suppose to love their families. I doubt the emotional ties to individuals in a state like New York could fall in the love category. Good luck explaining all this to your children Mr. Spitzer!
Imagine the many family members who feel the sting of humiliation by this public confession. How do you feel about trusting men and women who carelessly flaunt family values. If the people who are closest to someone are duped by that person doesn't this send up red flags to others? Would it be prudent to take a closer look if you are a business partner, sure. But we are the constituents and we get treated like Spitzer has treated his constituents quite often. Do they leave office not without a fight.
If our politicians are so anxious to stay and face further humiliation I wonder why? Is it because they are paid so well? Is it because they are puppets and the puppet master hasn't said they could leave office yet? Yes, we do have plenty of questions about the motivation to endure public humiliation and stay in office as if nothing had happened. Very curious behavior indeed.

Of course I have to comment on the recent hoopla surrounding the resignation of Emperor, I mean Governor, Eliot Spitzer.
Many people would say that the case against Governor Spitzer was over blown. However, he behaved, in my opinion, as a brazen
