How can we lose fat from our thighs and hips is an age old question for women. It is something that only seems to get worse as we get older. This article will tell you how to lose your fat from your hip and thigh trouble spots.
The way to lose fat from you thighs and hips is to basically lose fat and tone up these areas. Just as you have no say in where unwanted kilos attach themselves onto your body, you also have no say in where the fat will leave first.
That dreaded four letter word diet has to be looked at. The first step for a lot of people is portion size, we are so used to supersizing our food that our ideas of what size a meal should be has gotten a little skewered. Try eating off of smaller plates, it is amazing how psychology will kick in and make you think you've had a larger meal.
The type of food you eat has to be examined as well. Low fat food with carbohydrates for energy and protein for muscle growth is important. Fish is a great addition to a diet as it is a low fat protein source that contains the omega-3 fatty acids which has been found, along with a myriad of other health benefits, to encourage weight loss.
High fiber foods will keep you feeling full as well as fighting off any stress that your body may be feeling. Foods such as apples, pears, zucchini, spinach, asparagus, lentils, brown rice and couscous are a must for your diet.
Drinking plenty of water is also important. Water flushes out toxins in your body which helps to stop you feeling fatigued. A fully hydrated body is also able to burn off calories much more effectively.
In order to lose weight you also have to get moving. Walking is a great choice as it is gentle on your joints and also helps to tone up your legs including your hips and thighs at the same time as burning calories. Roller-blading will also help to tone up your thighs while burning calories. One of my favorite forms of exercise is dancing and my advice to you is to choose something you enjoy doing as that will make it easier to keep it up.
Now we have to move on to the toning. The hip and thigh region is made up of three different muscle groups, these are your Gluteals (located on the back of your hips), Adductors (located throughout your inner thigh) and Iliopsoas (located on the front of your hips). The following exercises are good for all three of these muscle groups.
These are especially good for your Gluteal muscles.
Forward Lunge
Stand with your feet hip-width apart, your abdominals pulled in and shoulders straight.
