What to know before your child is evaluated for learning disabilities

In the example of a child being referred from a prep school to a psychologist for underachievement and deteriorating peer relationships is what this post addresses. I have a friend that was in this situation. I do not believe that the family would mind my reference to this question in my determination of providing an aligned action plan. The problem that my friend faced was that his father was given up to a foster home and my friend's mother was adopted. With only a undergraduate level education at the time my ability to provide alternatives were limited; however if given the opportunity again the method that would be suggestively beneficial in this instance would be through the methodological use of an interview, testing, and case history answers to help determine why this behavior may be occurring (Cohen & Swerdlik, 2005).

These questions consist of demographic data (name, age, sex, religion, number of persons in family, race, occupation, marital status, socioeconomic status, address, and telephone numbers; the parent's information may be useful for assisting in the interview. In the example of my friend he was divorced so data may need drawn from both separated individuals), reason for referral (in this instance underachievement and deteriorating peer relationships, referred from a prep school), past medical history (for the child and family members; in my friends
