The entrance requirements for getting into Heaven

The entrance requirements for getting into Heaven

The answer to this question is determined by your understanding of the Bible. The proviso for the spending of eternity in heaven with Jesus Christ as stated in the Bible is a quote made by Jesus Himself. In the gospel of John chapter three, verse three, Jesus states, "Most assuredly, I say to thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

Now the question to answer is "What does being born again mean?" The first thing to grasp is the origination of sin and the concept of what sin encompasses. The origination of sin began with Adam and Eve in the garden. Sin entered the world through the disobedience by Adam and Eve. This act placed the sin nature in the human race. The sin was not eating a fruit but the disobeying of God by eating of the tree. God had said not to eat of the tree and they disobeyed Him. Before the entrance of sin, Adam and Eve could fellowship with God in the garden, but after the entrance of sin, they where put out of the garden and lost the face-to-face fellowship they had enjoyed. The sin of Adam and Eve did not catch God off guard. The plan for the salvation of His creation had already been put in place as stated in the book of Genesis where God said that the seed of the woman would wound the serpents' head, which reflects a fatal blow. From this prophecy through all of the Old Testament, you can see the prophetic statements of the coming of Jesus Christ and the salvation He shall provide to those who believe and accept Him.

Jesus Christ was the Savior sent by God to pay the price for our sins. The price is death. This is seen in Romans 6:23, "for the wages of sin is death." In the Old Testament, this was accomplished by the sin offering, the life of an animal in place of the person. The continual offering has been replaced by the onetime offering of God's Son Jesus, who died to bring all who believe unto Himself. To reap the salvation offered by God one must believe, in the heart, confess they are a sinner in need of salvation, and accept Jesus as your Savior. Another good verse is Ro 10:9, 13, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." In addition, let us not forget the passage that states in, 1 Peter 1:18-19 KJV - "ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible thingsbut with the precious blood of Christ as of a lamb without blemish and without spot." You must be born again, washed in the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on a cross, for us.

Therefore from what has been covered the answer to the question can be summed up in the verse, "ye must be born again." Read the word of God, the Bible, and study what the phrase really means and have a wonderful relationship with the Savior, Jesus Christ.
