Call me old fashioned, call me a patriot, call me whatever you wish, but I don't think any citizen of this country should criticize the President of the United States. It is truly shameful when a former President bad-mouths the current leader of the country. They should know better. Politics; unfortunately, has made everything fair game in this country.
Much criticism has been lobbed at the "Bush administration," whatever that is, much as it has been directed at every President for as long as I can remember. If by "administration," people mean all of the Congressmen that are serving at the time a President is in office, I can understand the criticism. It is ridiculous how naive the American public is in this regard as they blindly follow the liberal agenda-driven media.
Were they not paying attention in their social studies classes? Is the American public really so stupid that it thinks everything in this country is controlled by the President? The President of this country is blamed for everything from the price of gas to the economy as a whole. Wake up people, it is the House of Representatives and Senate that make the laws that affect all of these things. Stop bad-mouthing the leader of your country for the things that your other elected representatives should be accomplishing. Give your Congressmen a call and ask why they are collecting a salary to do things like spend your tax dollars investigating baseball when they could be using that money as tax incentives for companies that are doing something to create energy independence, for instance.
I cannot imagine the pressure that a President is under twenty four hours a day. There is a reason that you see the hair of every man that has served this country in its highest position turn gray, seemingly within months of taking the Oath of Office. I assure you that every person that has ever been in the position has sought out the best advisors he can on a myriad of issues. He is in a far better position to make decisions than the pundits who are not privy to all of the information on which those decisions are based. We will never know all of the facts about why certain decisions are made. National security issues dictate that a large amount of information be withheld from those that may use that information to undermine this country. Former Presidents know this. Have they forgotten what it was like or are they basing their opinions on old information and politics?
The President is your country to the rest of the
