Most of us are familiar with the recent film "The Secret" and the explosion of popularity associated with the Law of Attraction. The theme behind the film (Ask, Believe, and Receive) indicates the possibility of manifesting ones desires into reality.

Many other films such as "What the Bleep do we Know" and books like "Ask and it is Given" further show us not only scientific proof but spiritual guidelines to achieving your hearts desires. Although, in my years of researching the subject I have yet to find a person who has manifested the winning lottery ticket I have found thousands of lives(including my own)which have been transformed positively. This in itself is well worth a little reading and spiritual discipline.

But for anyone who has read all the books, watched all the films, and researched into complicated subjects such as Quantum Mechanics and has only found little progress I will now share with you the reason for your only mild success at manifesting.

"There is not one but two of you."

I know that sounds crazy but let me explain. Inside the vastness of your mind exists a dueling consciousness. There is the conscious you,-aware of the present moment, sensing your emotions and feelings and taking in the world with your five senses. This is the you which experiences your life and creates desires for your future. The other you or subconscious you is the part existing in your past, reacting to life, and resisting change. You are completely unaware of this part of your consciousness for it hides in the comfort of familiarity and feeds on your false sense of self.

For thousands of years ancient texts have described the duality of nature in both the Tao and the Vedas there is reference to this universal law of opposites. As human beings and part of the nature of the Universe we also are subject to the same laws.

We do indeed live in an exciting time in human history for our science has advanced to the point of validating many of the spiritual doctrines of our ancient texts. Quantum Mechanics has proven that reality is at least influenced be human consciousness(Law of Attraction) something the ancient masters of Buddhism and Hinduism have been proclaiming for thousands of years. Now, Neuroscience and Psychology is showing us proof of the duality of the human condition(Law of Opposites) also proclaimed by the ancient masters.
