The case against circumcision

There are just as many pro's to circumcision as there are con's. Both of my boy's were circumcised, and they had no regrets with it at all. The pain is for such a short time, compared to a lifetime of better cleanliness, and less infections.

All of my grandson's have been circumcised, just as their fathers both were, and so is my daughter's son. We discussed it all when they were older, as to whether my husband and I made the right choice in having the procedure done. They were all in agreement. That's why it was done for their boys as well.

If a young boy has never been taught to pull the foreskin back and clean himself, he is not only susceptible to infection, he will develop an odor, and have a cheesy build up under the foreskin. After cleaning, the foreskin then needs to be pulled back down over the penis, as the penis will swell, causing a lot of discomfort. Young boy's should be taught this from a very early age.

A lot of older men have never been circumcised, and some will start having urinary problems, and it's really hard on an older man if he needs to get the procedure done at a much older age. It would have been better to have done it when he was a baby.

I know a lot of people see it as child abuse, and I'm sure it is somewhat painful for the moment, but that little baby boy doesn't remember that pain, anymore than his mother remembers the pain of childbirth, bringing that baby into the world. Usually, as soon as they bring you your new baby after the procedure is done, and you put him to your breast to nurse, the crying is over, and he feels safe in his mother's arms. Do as the Dr. says, and the baby will heal quickly, and it is over and done with forever.

Child abuse is deliberately putting your child in harms way, either in physical abuse, verbal abuse, or downright neglect. I see circumcision as a benefit for later years in their lives. I would never have put my boy's through the procedure, if I felt like it was abusive. I love my children, and I do what I feel is right, and healthy for them.

Every time your child has to have his/her shot's, it hurts them. But it is necessary for their well-being. There are disease's out there that could kill them, or harm them for life. So you do what is best for your child, and look at it as healthy, not as abusive. I'm quite sure that they will thank you in the end.
