A new you: The benefits of exercise

The Benefits of Exercise

There are many reasons why exercise is good for anyone, and everyone. One of the best reasons for me to exercise is to relieve pain. I suffer chronic pain through my body, and if I don't exercise once or twice, sometimes three times a day, (depending on the weather), I stiffen up so tight that I feel as if I will break a muscle, yes I said muscle.

Exercising strengthens your heart, and lungs as well as other body parts. By having to exercise, my heart and lungs are the best part of me. I wake up some mornings (especially damp or rainy days); in so much pain I can hardly move. On these days I have to start my exercises before I even get out of bed.

I do my exercises alone in the morning and evening, along with my favorite music playing on the CD player, of course. I also have some friends that I get together with on a regular basis, (every day or so when possible), and we all go down to our common room, pop in a tape, and exercise together. I enjoy the group exercises most because we also carry on foolishly and laugh a lot. You don't get this type of exercise when you are alone. There are about eight of us altogether, so you can probably imagine what we do for fun, at these sessions. Sometimes we laugh so much that we have to start the CD over again, and continue with our exercise session.

Another reason to exercise is to stay in shape. It makes you feel good about yourself when you are in great shape, and by being in shape, you do not get as depressed as some people do when they are in bad shape, or if you feel as if you are a big lump of flesh. Depression is hard to get through for some people who lives alone, friends also helps us to get out of depression periods in our life.

It does not help me to sleep better, because my normal pain keeps we awake a lot of the time. I can only stay in one position for a certain amount of time, then I have to move, or I get so cramped up, it hurts worse than ever. Therefore I am tossing and turning all night.

I have no choice but to exercise, or I will be in bed for the rest of my life. I know this is not what you want to read about, but exercise is the most important part in anyone's life who suffers from chronic pain.

A lot of people say that it takes motivation to exercise on a regular basis. This statement does not work for anyone who is in need of movement to get by in life. For everyone else, it is a great way to stay in shape, keep your muscles toned and keep your heart and lungs in good condition. Your body will thank you for keeping in shape. Your heart and lungs will work much better when you exercise on a regular basis, and your whole outlook on life will be much better.
