A Yearning
Even small as a sparrow
would I be,
if I could fly above the world,
soaring free.
No more than a ripple
would I be,
if I could roam unhindered
through the seas.
Would I could just sunder
my own chains,
the shackles that pin me down,
unending pain,
just a whisp of cloud
would I be,
if I could loose my soul:
forever free.

another day in these dreary surroundings
he dresses after the usual
tasteless

To fly away and feel free
Only to fly - flying only me
How it would feel -only to love
To fly - soaring like
Freedom shall forever rest,
upon the shoulders of those who
unfailingly meet the test,
and with the gift of a year or two
spent
