Poetry: Freedom

A Yearning

Even small as a sparrow
would I be,
if I could fly above the world,
soaring free.

No more than a ripple
would I be,
if I could roam unhindered
through the seas.

Would I could just sunder
my own chains,
the shackles that pin me down,
unending pain,

just a whisp of cloud
would I be,
if I could loose my soul:
forever free.
