attacks in the US.
- Highly skilled technical and other US workers find themselves without jobs and benefits as the US continues to export jobs abroad without penalty to the corporations that export them.
Senator Obama continually opposed the War in Iraq, promises to end the US participation in the Iraqi conflict and remove US troops as soon as possible, while also being willing to meet with any foreign leaders, friendly or not, to resolve disputes amicably. His pledge to seek alternative energy sources in a variety of forms will provide leverage for the US against the dwindling supplies of foreign oil. He will restore the "War on Terror" to its initial goal: the capture of Bin Laden and the final dismantling of Al Qaeda in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Senator Obama will work to penalize corporations that send US jobs abroad and will reward those companies that do not.

- The PATRIOT ACT is antithetical to American ideals and liberties. The preparation of this document well before the 9-11 attacks makes any reasonable person question the response of the US to the 9-11 onslaught just before and during the attacks. The average American has no sense of the extent to which this document permits unreasonable searches and seizures, including loss of liberty, without judicial process and without compensation if such searches are proven to be unwarranted under the Bill of Rights, which at one point trumped all other documents in this country. The very definition of being a "patriot" is to challenge your country and its government to fulfill its promises to its citizenry, not to blindly follow the policies and principles of leaders with questionable motives.

- The US middle class, the backbone of its existence, is facing extinction as jobs and benefits disappear, tax breaks favor the ultra-rich and the Social Security system threatens to miserably fail the present working generation in terms of amount and longevity of benefits.
