Is canning and preserving foods worth it?

I think it is worth it to have some of the foods we wouldn't be able to get during winter.
Every summer I can:
Beets....
Tomatoes........
P eaches I can a whole bunch of peaches because peaches is my favorite food and I like having BC peaches all year round instead of only during the season. I find peach season way to short especially BC peaches which are the best peaches in the whole wide world they are way better then California peaches although California peaches have a longer season just because it is warmer in California but BC peaches are worth the wait.

Another fruit I like to can just so I have it longer then its season and that are Saskatoon's I will pick buckets full just so I can can some of them so I can enjoy the during the cold winter.
Mushroom the ones with the pruney heads the ones that taste good in gravy. They are excelent to eat over steak. steak and mushrooms yum, yum, yum.
Peas fresh garden peas are also an excellent winter treat you have the peas mixed into your mash potatoes covered in the mushroom sauce and then add the shredded beets and the canned tomatoes and finish the meal with some of the canned peaches and you have real good eating all winter long.
And its healthy to.....
But not as healthy as it would be if you ate it fresh.
Canned raspberries and strawberry's are also a delight.
I like anything canned.
I like food period wither it is canned or it is fresh it doesn't matter to me.
Some kind fruit is better then fresh while some fresh is better then canned.
But no ones going to complain if there favorites show up during a meal during the winter months when they know that they are going to have to wait for summer to eat their favorite foods.
Unless they are really fussy they will eat the canned food and like it they will even help help you can the food for winter.
It is a good family project.
The picking of the food is almost as fun as the canning but the funnest part is the eating.
I always liked eating what I make the best.
I love to eat.
I also love to shell the peas so I can eat them.
I can't really can the peaches because I end up eating just as many as I can.
Luckily my grandmother loves to can the peaches.
