What to do if your iPod freezes

be a small lock icon on the screen. If there is green, it is unlocked and you may proceed with your other options.

~Reset it.
This is easily done, as well. you want to toggle the hold switch (this would be turning it on and off a few times). Then press and hold both the pause/play button until the device turns itself off. Again the Apple logo will appear, then disappear when it goes off. Then turn it back on in the same manner. If this fails to unfreeze the Ipod, then you may have more problems than you initially realized.

~Plug it in.
If the above options do not appear to be working, you might need to give the Ipod a rest. Plug it into your computer in the same manner that you would to recharge it. allow it a few moments and it should reset itself to it's last working order. In most cases, plugging it in will relieve any other problems that you may be having. Allow the Ipod to synch before ejecting it, of course or it may erase any information that you had stored on it previously.

If any of the above does not work, your Ipod may need servicing. In this case you would want to contact Apple and ask a few questions, or report the problem to ascertain if it does, in fact need servicing. If this is the case, you would most likely have to send it to the manufacturer to get it fixed. It is also been said that the Ipods have a certain life expectancy, and if this is true than your malfunctioning device may have just bit the dust, in which case you would need to purchase the next generation.
