One minute you are jammin' to your favorite tune of the week, and the next moment you find that your trusty little Ipod has just given you a unwarranted 'take five'. Perhaps it's not so trusty after all is it? We've all been there, haven't we? You have (in most cases) well over five hundred songs to pick and choose from on our palm jukeboxes. These may be songs from all artists and genre's, of many beats, styles and tempo's, and sometimes you are just not in the mood to headbang to Metallica or two-step to Tim McGraw, and so you might press the button to skip to the next song. Problem is, if you hit it too fast, that Ipod will freeze up faster than molasses in a New England winter. 'What now?', you groan.
While your first impulse is to throw the offensive music box across the room, aiming for the most solid item in sight in hopes of shattering the thing, this is not the answer. Tossing the Ipod around is not going to persuade it to become your best buddy again. Though some claim that dropping the item is what causes it to freeze in the first place, that has never been proven. Anyone that has ever owned an Ipod knows that it is completely unavoidable to drop it. No matter how hard you try to protect your little investment, you will drop it. No, you will.

The Ipod's may be tough, but they are by no means unbreakable. Many of them will have minor glitches, especially over time. Thus, many small things may contribute to it freezing. The first thing you want to do is turn it off. The way that you may do this is to press the center button (the round button), and hold it until the screen goes blank. You will see the Apple logo flash before it goes completely blank. Once it is off, it should correct itself. After a few seconds, depress the same button until the Ipod is once again activated. You will immediately see the list of options that appears each time that you turn the Ipod on. Most times this works with unfreezing your device. If it does not work, though, there are other options that you can resort to using.
~Check the lock.
Did you accidentally switch the lock on? Atop the Ipod there is a switch that will lock all of the buttons from doing anything, including skipping tracks. the problem is that this switch is easily moved from the on/off position even if it is done accidentally. If your depressing buttons does not allow your screen to move in any way, it may be locked. If looking at the switch, there is red beside it, it is locked. There will also
