Watching videos on your ipod is great, but you cant just use your DVDs you already own, like the way you can use your music Cd's you already own to put onto the ipod. Its easy with music, you just place the CD in and its easily transferred to your computer and then placed on the ipod. But with DVDs there are so many more copy right protections you just cant do that. So if you do want a movie on your ipod you would have to buy it from the itunes store, but who wants to re-buy movies they already own?

If you are a movie nut who owns lot and lots of great DVDs that you dream of having on your ipod, don't worry because you can! There is a simple program called Handbrake (http://handbrake.fr/). It is a simple program that will copy the content off your DVDs and then convert them into a file your ipod can play! Handbrake can be downloaded for Apple, windows and even Linux! Once this program is downloaded and installed you simply run the program and insert a DVD into your CD drive and follow the on screen instructions. It really is easy as that. And best of all its free! The only drawback is the legality of doing this is different in different countries and is still up for debate in some, so do this at your own risk.

Another option for finding some fun videos to watch to kill time with your ipod is, Google video and Youtube. These two services make it extremely easy for you to get videos in ipod video format. Any video on either of those two sites has a download option located in the top right of the page, which allows you to download the video in ipod format! These are free legal (usually) movies. You just won't find any videos that are as long as a movie, which could be good for your ipods battery life and memory. Best of all these are free videos, and you can do a quick and easy search to find a video on almost anything!

Another option is lime wire, but I do not recommend it. Lime wire is file sharing service, that millions of users use to share pretty much anything. With lime wire you have to be extremely careful not to download copyrighted things, such as most movies you would want. Also you have to be on high alert for viruses on lime wire.
