A beginner's guide to makeup

Here are some of my personal make up tips for beginners.

;; Often times when wearing foundation,it may look as if your wearing a mask. To avoid this, apply a powder bronzer with a make up powder brush along your hairline.

;; Wearing a touch of blush on your cheeks really livens up your face. Apply blush on an angle starting on the apples of your cheeks up to your temples. It also gives a contouring effect.

;; Blush isn't just for your cheeks. When you are in a time crunch & don't feel like finding eyeshadow to wear, just use the blush you used that day as your eyeshadow. This trick really balances out your look.

;; Use a foundation primer to smooth out your face before applying foundation & primers also helps prolong the wear of your foundation.

;; Powder foundations are best used if you have normal to oily skin, liquid foundations for normal to dry & cream foundations for normal to dry.

;; For matured skin (50+;if you have wrinkles),cream foundations are the best variety for your skin. Creams reduce the appearance of fine lines.

;; If you have oily skin, find foundations that are designed especially for oily skin.

;; Apply a loose powder (translucent or a powder that matchs your skintone) after foundations application (powder excluded). This sets your make up, controls shine & makes your foundation last throughout the day.

;; As the seasons change, so will your skin. During warmer months, you may get darker as opposed to cooler months you may get lighter. Buy a light & dark shades of foundation(I use liquids) & mix the different shades together til you get a color that best matches your skintone. This is the cheapest way to change up your foundation shades as your skintone changes throughout the months.

;; Using a make up sponge to apply your liquid foundation & worried about the sponge absorbing most of your foundation? Soak your sponge in water & squeeze the excess water before putting your foundation onto the sponge.

;; Bronzer just isn't for summer months. During the winter months, you may notice that your skin looks a tad dull. Apply a powder bronzer making a "3 motion with your brush on your face on each side. Starting at the middle of your forehead, cheeks, & ending at the middle of your chin.Sounds funny but,it works.

;; Contouring your face slims down features you want to downplay. Use a shade that is at least 2 shades darker than your natural skintone(you can use a powder, bronzer, or an eyeshadow). Contouring can be done inside the hollows of your cheekbones,
