How to find your true passion

out what truly makes you happy. Find a place that you can mediate and the answers will come. I love going to the beach and just sitting on the warm sand, gazing out into the water. This not only gives me pleasure and brings me back to myself, but it gives me clarity and gets the writing juices flowing. I've done this many times when looking for answers. When I met my husband, I knew he was the one for me, but there were quite a few obstacles in the way. Not to mention 1500 miles between us. But at the beach, I'd stretch out on the sand and listen to the surf. My heart knew the answer. He was the one.

Talking it out with a close friend who knows you well and who you trust may help you find the answers. I have four friends who know me almost better than I do. They see things that I'm not aware of and are very supportive. A good friend will tell you what she or he thinks without being judgmental. They'll tell you the great qualities they see in you and give you confidence, encouraging you to pursue your dreams. Surround yourself with people who are good for you and only want to see you happy. Stay away from the negative ones. We all have them in our life. You know, the person who doesn't think anything is worth pursuing and that life is just what your handed and you can't do a thing to change it. Those people can only bring you down.

Do the things you love to do. Or find something new. Your passion will come through. Go hiking, horse back riding, dance, sing, whatever it is that brings you pleasure. Take a trip to an exotic place and learn about a whole different culture. Take a friend out to dinner. Make a donation to your favorite charity. Teach a child how to read. Live your passion every day and every day will be wonderful. And through those times that you think you will never get through, your passion will find a way to do it for you. When my mom was dying, I thought I would die too. I couldn't stand to see her suffer. I had to force myself out of bed sometimes. On those days, I'd play my favorite music and then if I could, head down to the beach. I would remember the good times with my mom. The way she always told me I could be whatever I wanted to be. She was my biggest fan and gave me encouragement all through my life. So on those days when everything seemed so bleak, I'd remember what my mom would say and know my strength was somewhere deep inside. It's what helped me survive the unthinkable.

So get going, find your passion...it's there, I promise!
