How to change an air filter

*IF YOUR ENGINE IS IDLING ROUGH, HAS LOW GET UP AND GO, GETS LOUSY GAS MILEAGE ALL OF A SUDDEN, MAY TURN OVER A FEW TIMES PRIOR TO STARTING, YOU MAY BE LITTERALLY CHOKING YOUR ENGINGE !

Your engine needs to breathe, it needs the air we breathe in order to run. If an engine is getting little or no air it is eventually going to stop and in doing so it could possibly have caused other problems to the engine internally. Our bodies are an engine and we require air/oxygen to live and for all our other organs to be healthy. This holds true for your cars engine. If it is struggling to breathe by a clogged airway(filter) it is going to affect each and ever part inside the engine by putting strain on those parts. All due to a simple piece of folded paper, your cars air filter.

Air filters play a major role in fuel economy as well as engine operation.* The Air Filter is the area in which your engine gets it's breathe/air. It is brought into the combustion chamber and the more of it able to pass through the air filter the smoother the engine operates and the better the gas mileage. Air filters to an engine act much like our nose hairs and lungs do to our blood giving it the cleanest air/oxygen it can. When we are in dusty areas and breath through our noses the tiny hairs act like a filter and grab on to as much of the particulate as possible keeping it out of the lungs. A vehicles filter aides the engine in much the same way. They are one of the easiest items almost anyone can change and one of the best things next to oil changes you can do for your vehicle's engine.

I presume this question is relating to a vehicles "air filter" since it was in the automotive section. Some vehicles have an interior air filter which is for the interior air circulating system. The first thing you must realize is that no two cars were created equal. Even if they are the same model believe it or not. I have seen parts belonging on a GM Safari Van on a Chevy Atro van and vise versa. One must realize also that not all cars are made in the United States. That may sound like a rather obvious elementary statement, however did you know that if you bought an Impala from Chevrolet it could have been made in Canada as well. Also I have found on Canadian made vehicles a mixture of metric and Us standard nuts and bolts throughout the vehicle? Even though certain things are supposed to be in certain places no longer can you rely on this in this day and age. If a GM van was run
