Testimonies: Why I'm a PC gamer

When I was growing up I didn't have a computer, I only had a Super Nintendo and eventually a Nintendo 64. I loved playing games and I wanted new games all the time. However there are several reason why I now as a more grown up person has jumped off the bandwagon that is console gaming. Firstly a console is outdated within some years, yes I am aware that the same happens with computers, but still not to the same degree as a computer can still be useful. I also find console games as well as the consoles way too expensive. And again I am aware a computer is expensive, but at least it can be used for more than only playing games. I also actually prefer playing games with a keyboard and mouse over a console controller, but that is just a matter of preferences I guess. I feel that a lot of games gets easier, especially first person shooters.

Another reason to that i prefer computer games is the fact the online part has always been bigger. Console games are slacking behind now coming with some online functions, but the computer is still superior when it comes to online gaming. Online gaming to me is really important and it is only on the computer I have been really comfortable with online gaming. I reckon the consoles will catch up in some years, but for now I still prefer it on the computer by far. It is not only the online gaming I find more comfortable on the computer, it is everything really. You can tab out from the game to go on the Internet or do whatever you like really and I just feel its more free than a console that is only games and eventually movies.

To me everything on the computer is better than on a console. The graphics are always ahead of the consoles and the prices of the games are much lower. I like the computer mouse over a gaming controller and "WASD" controlling games are much more appealing to me than the console is. The computer have Internet as a major selling point as I simply couldn't live without Internet. Another thing with the Internet is how easy it is to download game demos, find videos from games or even reviews to games to help you buy the right games. A console can't offer the same great Internet service that the computer does and that means to find reviews and videos a console gamer will have to somehow find or have a computer anyway. Then he might as well play on the computer in my eyes. I love my computer. Not only because of the games, but also because of the possibility to tab out to Internet or MSN.
