How to transfer songs from iTunes to your iPod

Since filling your Ipod with song after song is a most tedious task, Apple has made the dull chore quite easy. With the complexity of the inner workings of the Ipod, one would assume that transferring any songs from iTunes onto your music box would be complicated as well. This, however is not so. Putting songs on your Ipod from either iTunes or any other music folder is a snap. It means literally clicking and dragging the song, or songs of choice.

It may be considered more difficult to place songs onto iTunes itself than it is to simply transfer music from iTunes onto your Ipod. This then, is what you will obviously want to do first. You can do this in various ways, the first way is to buy songs or albums from the iTunes store. Not all songs or albums, or even artists are available through the iTunes store, so you might have to find them from other sources. You can transfer your personal collection of CD's into iTunes, allowing you to make the most of your old discs. To do this, you place the disc into your burner, and iTunes will automatically recognize it and ask if you would like to import the music into your iTunes. It will also allow you to check which songs that you import.

Once your music is safe within the iTunes vault, you can do whatever you want with it. Peruse through the iTunes music list, and decide which song that you want on your Ipod. Click on the song, which will highlight it. After this, you will drag it to the appropriate area. When your Ipod is connected to your computer there will be an option on the left hand side that will read 'Ipod', and beneath that is a sub category labeled 'music'. You will drag the song into this category, and wait until it loads successfully before dragging another.

Though this is repetitive process it is fairly easy. You may also drag said song into any play-list category that you so choose. You may then rename the play-lists according to the music that you place into them (example Christmas music, or eighties music). This makes it easier for you to locate some of your favorite music. The Ipod will then place the songs into all categories that are available on the Ipod. It's as simple as that. After you have transfered your music, you will be able to enjoy the songs at your leisure.
