Men today are looking to change their look, they want to be more fashionable. Being trendy can be as simple as changing your hairstyle, hair can affect the whole look of a man. People may look at how a man dresses, they may think he looks very smart, but if the hairstyle does not match then they might think twice about finding you fashionable. A good hairstyle can make all the difference in today's world.
Short hair
If a short look is what you desire, then to have your hair short and neat all over is what is trendy now. Having it long on the top, but short in the back is not fashionable anymore. A more clean-cut, neat image is desirable these days.
The messy look
However, if you have medium length hair a messier look goes well with this type of hair. I don't mean your hair to look as if you just got out of bed, but put in strategic locations so that it looks messy, but it's really styled that way. In order to keep the style you can use gel, wax, or paste to keep the look in place. Paste is probably better as it's not as shiny, and noticeable, as gel. The best way to achieve this look is when your hair is wet, apply the paste to wet hair, ruffling your hair to where you want it positioned, then let it dry naturally.
Faux hawk
The Faux Hawk has been fashionable for a few years, and still remains in fashion. It is best described as a trendy version of the classic Mohawk style of the past. Both sides of the hair are shaved short, but the middle remains long, with a small spike in the center. There are some mens hairstyles that never seem to go out of fashion, and the Crew Cut style is on of them. This hairstyle requires a close cut all around, but slightly longer on the top. Classic hairstyle are still favored by actors today. Another classic style worn by movie stars are the textured looks. This look is done by cutting the hair short, but leaving the top middle of medium length. After the hair is layered the front part is swept to the side.
How to deal with baldness and receeding hair line
If you are almost bald then it is more fashionable to completely shave your head, rather than having just a little hair. If you have a receding hairline it is best to keep your hair short all over. It is not fashionable, and does not look good when a man grows his hair long at the back, then proceeds to comb the long hair from the back to cover the front, or combing from the sides over the front of the head. If you have gray hair, keep it, the natural look is in, and gray hair looks sophisticated.
Dyed hair
If you feel you must dye your hair be sure to choose a color that blends with your skin tone. Don't choose a really dark color if you have a pale complexion. Get a color that is as close to what your natural hair color was originally. If you're not sure what color, or style suits you best take advise from a stylist at your local hair salon.
Mens hairstyle's depend very much on the length of their hair. Long hair is in fashion these days, not like in the past if a man had long hair it was frowned upon. The standard look of tying your hair back in a ponytail, or plait is still in style for long hair. There is the blunt bob look that is a style where the hair has a textured look at the ends, and this seems to be popular for men with long hair today. Make sure that your hair is always well conditioned as long hair can become tangled, and look untidy if not cared for properly.
