Whether you are a freelance writer, someone writing for money on the Internet, someone working on the next greatest novel, or someone just passionate about writing, writing more in a day is important. Often times life is busy and it is hard to find enough time to get as much as we would like to get done. In these times it is writing that often suffers most. With a few planned steps, you can be producing more in a short period of time.
Create a Creative Habit.
We are creatures of habit and love to have things the same way over and over again. You can set up a well organized work space that has everything you need at your finger tips. Then add things to your creative habit that will help you work hard and efficiently. For each person this is different. It might be a cup of tea or coffee. It might be a certain type of music. It might be white noise or the sound of the crashing waves. You can even include fragrances that cause you to relax and to be calm while working. Whatever it is, work it in to your habit. Start out you writing period by setting it all up and then work through your writing time enjoying it.
Set Time Aside.
While it is often hard to find a spare few minutes to breathe, setting aside time to write will help you to be more productive. Make sure you set aside at least an hour each day, around the same time each day. This will give you a time and a place to work. If you can have more time set aside, that can be a good thing. But if not, then work with what you have available to you.
Write.
It often seems like such an easy word, but when you sit in front of the paper or the blank screen it can get much harder to do. However, you need to force yourself to write something. It doesn't have to be great, it doesn't even have to be good. Just working through the writing process can be helpful and can make it easier.
Write What You Know.
Whether you are writing a novel, an article, or a blog entry, if you write what you know then you will be able to produce a lot more content in the same period of time. If you work through the amount of stuff that you already know, you will find that you have a lot to say and a lot that you can write on.
Stay Motivated.
Motivation is very important. If you are feeling down, or struggling to feel good about what you are doing then writing is going to be hard to do. However, if you stay motivated and work on excitement then you will be able to get your work out there more and more. You will have more to say and be able to say it quicker.
It isn't always easy being a writer. Whether you are writing for yourself, writing that book, writing an article, or maintaining a blog there are a lot of things that can come against you. Just push through them. Make yourself a place and a time to write and then keep writing. If you produce something bad, then wait awhile and try editing it. Don't just throw it out, but save it for another day. You can write more each and every day.
