Place des Vosges is the oldest square in Paris. This enchantingly charming park allows one to sit and enjoy the sun, listen to kids play, and locals enjoy their home.
6. Montparnasse Cemetery established in the 1700's. Here you can visit car maker Andre Citroen, writer Simone de Beauvoir. There is also the Montmartre cemetery established in 1798 where you can visit the grave site of Edgar Degas. And there is the more well known Pere-Lachaise cemetery where you can visit Jim Morrison, Oscar Wilde, and many more well known names. You can pick up maps for free at the entry way of each cemetery. If cemeteries are not for you keep in mind there are numerous parks to visit as well
7. Basilique du Sacre Couer is located a top Montmartre. This beautiful Romano-Byzantine church is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and is located at the highest point in Paris. Inside the church visitor's will find one of the world's largest mosaics, depicting Christ with outstretched hands. The top of Montmartre offers stunning views of the city, and beautiful grassy knolls where one can site and enjoy the panoramic views of Paris.
The tourist on a budget will be able to find numerous things to keep themselves busy while in Paris without exceeding their means. Visit Paris with an open mind realizing that a vacation, even a dream vacation does not require a lot of money, just a penchant for adventure.
