Take my soul it has no worth
mournful joy confused embrace.
Slave to hunger that has no ending,
tormented lines weigh my face.
Possess the wind an easy task,
pound to sand a mountain peak.
Pluck a planet from the heavens,
teach an ocean to speak.
To long for her is as these tasks,
the impossible seems mundane.
Breathing somber mortal sighs
my heart cries out her name.
"Come to me!" is never spoken
the heart's desire has no voice.
Uttered words revile my weakness,
horror, rejection if not her choice.
Slumber now frees no deep desires
dreams I curse their empty rewards.
Reality holds more pain in longing
boldness fuels my words.
I risk all by bearing my soul
and speak the words that shutter.
Stopped for a moment, time is in her eyes
I will never desire another.
